Rees Jeffreys Road Fund trustees were delighted to meet past bursary recipient Richard Oram, when Richard was recently visiting London from the US.
Richard was awarded a bursary by Rees Jeffreys Road Fund in 1977. The bursary enabled Richard to study at the London School of Economics, gaining knowledge he went on to apply in creating a successful public transport focused business in the US.
Richard’s student research “Peak Period Supplements: The Contemporary economic of urban bus transport in the UK and USA” was published in the Progress in Planning journal.
Richard wished to recognise the impact of the bursary on his career and has very kindly made a donation to Rees Jeffreys Road Fund to enable us to expand our work to improve how everyone experiences roads in the future.
Chair of Trustees Andy Graham said, “It was great to have the opportunity to meet Richard and hear just what an impact a Rees Jeffreys Road Fund bursary had on his life and career. The Trustees are very grateful to Richard for deciding to donate to the Fund, this will make a real difference to our ability to fund both road-related projects and the professional training for individual transport professional today.”
