A Memorial Lecture has been held to commemorate the life and work of past Rees Jeffreys Road Fund trustee Professor John Wootton.
The event included presentations by current Rees Jeffreys Road Fund trustees who worked with John in the early part of their careers and benefited from his support, guidance and encouragement.
The presentations explored topics John had a keen interest in: microscopic models; machine learning from CCTV; and approaches to Local Transport Plans. Each presentation was responded to by an early career professional working in these areas today.
Further recognising John’s championing of people at the start of their transport careers, four early career professionals formed a panel and fielded questions about how John’s legacy – his work and support for professional development – could be continued today.
